(Breaking Free of Radiation - Carefree Kids at Play)

br/ br/ span class="small"strongみゆ/strongbr/ ハワイ島 2015年8月 撮影/spanbr/ _______________________________br/ br/ No one was really sure where things were headed with the radioactive contamination.br/ Some said everything was fine, some said it wasnrsquo;t.br/ We wanted our kids to escape from that exposure, if only just for the summer.br/ We were able to participate in a health retreat to Hawaii organized by people there and in Japan.br/ Though they had been prohibited from entering the waters of Fukushima, these kids were now able to go swimming and hiking to their heartrsquo;s content.br/ That gave me some peace of mind, too.br/ But then I remember that if it werenrsquo;t for the disaster, there wouldnrsquo;t have been any need to escape overseas. Irsquo;m conflicted.br/ br/ span class="small"strongMiyu/strongbr/ Photo: Hawaiian Islands, August 2015/span
