(JR Kesennuma Line and BRT Bus)

br/br/ span class="small"strong仙台のY /strongbr/ 宮城県気仙沼市気仙沼駅前 2015年6月 撮影/spanbr/span class="small"*BRTは、バス・ラピッド・トランジット(バス高速輸送システム)の略/spanbr/ _______________________________br/ br/The Kesennuma Line railroad along the coast was torn apart by the disasters. Because it takes a considerable amount of time and money to restore the railway, the tracks were paved over so that buses could reconnect the severed stations instead.br/ I hear that because the cost of maintenance for both the Kesennuma and Ofunato Line is so high, they plan to abandon the restoration of railroads and continue the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system.br/ Traveling from Sendai to Minami Sanriku and Kesennuma feels farther than ever. br/ It feels farther than traveling from Sendai to Tokyo. Traveling is rough even for those who only go there once in awhile mdash; let alone the local people who use this line daily. br/ Ever since the tsunami, we can no longer travel around this area without having to transfer lines.br/ I hope the entire line could be reconnected one day.br/br/ span class="small"strongY from Sendai/strongbr/ Photo: In front of Kesennuma Station, Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, June 2015/span
