本州の中で、東北地方太平洋沖地震（東日本大震災）の震源地に最も近い港。
このとき114㎝地盤沈下海には
岸壁が「沈んで」いた。
あれから一年。
復旧工事は少しずつだけど、しかし確実に進んでいる。
岸壁も見事復活を遂げ、
いまでは海の上で堂々と胸を張っている。
やっぱり岸壁はこうでなくちゃね。
きょうもここから漁師さんたちが勇ましく沖へ出ていく。

This was the mainland harbor closest to the epicenter of the Great East Japan Disaster.
At that time the ground subsided by as much as 114cm (almost 4 feet), and the wharf sank into the ocean.
It’s been one year since then.
Reconstruction efforts are progressing slowly but surely.
The wharf too has made tremendous progress, standing proud above the ocean waves.
After all, this is the way it’s gotta be.
The fishermen can bravely set off here for the open sea, as they always have and always will.
