ながーい地震の揺れが終わって、逃げ出たベランダから居間を振り返った。
家具が倒壊していないことに安堵し、思わず近くにあったカメラのシャッターを押した。
そして、デイサービスから戻ってくる叔母を自宅にむかい入れることになると判断し、
夕方暗くなる前に必死に後片付けに取り組みました。
後に、もし自宅が津波被災地であったらと、いろいろ考えさせられました。

I ran out onto the balcony when the earthquake struck. When the shaking finally stopped, I looked back into the living room.
I was relieved to see all the furniture was still standing. I instinctively reached for my camera and took this picture. Then I started desperately cleaning up before it turned dark, figuring we would be taking my aunt into our home when she got back from the senior center. Only afterwards did I stop and think, ldquo;what if the tsunami had destroyed our home?rdquo;
